The World Heritage Centre at UNESCO has published a new reference manual for managing cultural heritage. This manual provides guidance for States Parties and all those involved in the care of World Heritage cultural properties on how to comply with the requirements of the World Heritage Convention. The publication is available for free as a PDF file. Considering my network this should be a must read for the colleagues at Corvey Castle, Germany, where the stakeholders hope to be on the list by 2014 as well as for the Oryx Sanctuary in Oman. Also it might be worth reading for those being responsible at the Externsteine, but where I have doubts… For my friends in the Simien Mountains I can recommend the counterpart which has been published for Natural World Heritage.
